Agent Management Guide

This guide walks you through the complete process of creating, configuring, and managing AI agents on the platform.

What Are Agents?

Agents are AI assistants that you can create, customize, and offer to clients through your agency. Each agent can:

  • Have its own personality and capabilities
  • Be configured to use different AI protocols and models
  • Be monetized through various contract options
  • Be tested, refined, and monitored through the admin dashboard

Creating a New Agent

Simple vs. Advanced Agent Creation

You have two options for creating agents:

Simple Agent Creation (Recommended for Beginners)

The simple agent creation process is designed for quick setup of OpenAI-compatible agents:

  1. Navigate to your Agency Dashboard
  2. Click "Create Simple Agent"
  3. Fill out the form with:
  4. Name: A descriptive name for your agent
  5. Description: Explain what your agent does and its capabilities
  6. Intro Text: The first message clients will see when starting a conversation
  7. API Key: Your OpenAI API key (or other compatible provider)
  8. Provider/Model: Select the AI provider and model (e.g., OpenAI/gpt-4)
  9. System Prompt: Instructions for how the agent should behave
  10. Temperature: Controls randomness (lower = more consistent, higher = more creative)
  11. Logo: Upload an image to represent your agent
  12. Published: Toggle to make the agent available to clients

  13. Click "Create Agent" to save your new agent

Advanced Agent Creation

For more customization options:

  1. Navigate to your Agency Dashboard
  2. Click "Create Advanced Agent"
  3. Fill out the complete form with additional technical options:
  4. All basic information (name, description, intro, logo)
  5. Protocol: Choose from OpenAI, Raw, Message List, Toolhouse Agent, or OpenAI Assistant
  6. Endpoint: The API endpoint URL
  7. Headers: Any custom HTTP headers as JSON
  8. Extra Data: Additional configuration in JSON format
  9. Agency: Connect the agent to your agency

  10. Click "Create Agent" to save

Importing Agents

If you have an existing agent configuration:

  1. Navigate to your Agency Dashboard
  2. Click "Import Agent"
  3. Upload a YAML file with your agent configuration
  4. Optionally upload a logo file
  5. Click "Import" to create the agent

Setting Up Contracts

Before clients can use your agent, you need to set up at least one contract:

  1. Navigate to your agent's admin dashboard
  2. Go to the "Contracts" section
  3. Click "Add Contract"
  4. Fill out the contract details:
  5. Description: What clients get with this contract
  6. Currency: Choose CRD (Credits), USD, or FRE (Free)
  7. Price: The cost to hire the agent
  8. Duration: How long the contract remains active (hours or days)
  9. Click "Add" to create the contract

NOTE: For paid contracts your Agent will need to be reviewed and
approved. Reach out to support to start the review process.

Tips for Creating Contracts:
- Offer a range of contracts at different price points
- Consider a free tier for clients to test your agent
- Set appropriate durations based on expected usage patterns
- Clear descriptions help clients understand what they're paying for

Hiring Your Own Agent for Testing

Before making your agent available to clients, you should test it yourself:

  1. Navigate to your agent's detail page
  2. Click "Admin Hire" (only available to agency owners)
  3. This creates a free 24-hour contract for testing
  4. Start a conversation to test your agent's capabilities
  5. Make note of any issues to refine your agent

Managing Agents through the Admin Dashboard

The agent admin dashboard is your central hub for managing all aspects of your agent:

Dashboard Overview

  1. Navigate to your agent's admin dashboard by clicking "Admin" on your agent's detail page
  2. The dashboard shows:
  3. Basic agent information and status
  4. Active contracts with clients
  5. Recent logs for monitoring and troubleshooting
  6. Edit and configuration options

Monitoring Performance

  1. Review the logs section to see:
  2. Error messages
  3. API interactions
  4. Performance issues

  5. Active contracts show:

  6. Current clients using your agent
  7. Contract expiration dates
  8. Usage statistics

Creating Sample Chats

Sample chats allow potential clients to see your agent in action:

  1. Create a conversation with your agent
  2. Once you have a good example, go to the conversation and click "Create Sample Chat"
  3. Give your sample a descriptive title
  4. This conversation will now appear on your agent's public profile

Managing Agent Settings

To update your agent's configuration:

  1. Click "Edit Agent" on the admin dashboard
  2. Modify any settings as needed
  3. For simple agents, use "Edit Simple" to update basic settings
  4. For more technical changes, use the full editor
  5. Click "Update Agent" to save changes

Publishing and Unpublishing

Control when your agent is available to clients:

  1. On the agent edit page, toggle the "Published" setting
  2. Unpublished agents are only visible to you and your agency
  3. Published agents appear in the marketplace for clients to hire

Best Practices for Agent Management

  • Regular Testing: Periodically test your agent to ensure it's performing as expected
  • Update System Prompts: Refine your agent's behavior based on client feedback
  • Monitor Logs: Check logs regularly to identify and fix issues
  • Diverse Contracts: Offer multiple contract options to appeal to different clients
  • Sample Chats: Create compelling sample conversations to showcase capabilities
  • Clear Documentation: Provide clear descriptions so clients know what to expect
